Mom woke me up at like 9 this morning when she was vacuuming her bedroom. We're at opposite ends of the upstairs, but it's not like the walls are very thick around here. That was sort of not awesome.
Ashley's getting married today. I have to start getting ready in an hour or so. I ended up buying a pretty nice blouse and some slacks for the occasion, so at least I'll look alright. Cold, though, because I forgot to get a decent sweater and it's pretty chilly outside. I'm also all over Google Maps trying to figure out the best way of getting to both the community centre for the ceremony and the hall for the reception. I think I've got it figured out.
I'm hoping to be home around 1 am, maybe earlier. I can't drink at the reception, 'cause I'm driving, but I don't wanna bail too early. I mean, there are friends I only see once or twice a year most of the time. Ashley less often, 'cause she and Mitchell live in Oshawa. I'm gonna miss tonight's Doctor Who. That's sad.
I spent the last couple days reading Harvey/Mike Suits fic. I know, I know. I said I didn't ship it, but Slash Report (this totally awesome slash themed podcast run by Rageprufrock and Mklutz that everyone should be listening to) rec-ed a bunch of AU Suits fic a few weeks ago. I totally stayed away from it for all that time, 'til the other night when I didn't have anything better to read. No self-control here! So while I don't ship Harvey/Mike as they are in canon I can totally ship them in an AU. Since then I have read fic where Mike was a barista, Mike was a pizza guy and one where Harvey and Mike imprinted (WTF?! Is that a Twilight thing? Fandom, what is going on?) on one another. All of which were pretty awesome. Now there's this Harry Potter AU I've got opened in my browser. Mike is part Veela and Harvey is a Slytherin! NO SELF-CONTROL!
Also, thanks to Slash Report I've been reading NCIS Gibbs/Tony fic. Another pairing I don't ship.
Oh, in other news, Toni found my livejournal using her apparently epic Google-fu. She didn't know my username, just typed a bunch of stuff she knows I talk about into Google and combined I guess it pulled up my LJ. Thankfully, anything really incriminating is behind an f-lock and we're pretty much friends now. She was gonna find out about my fan-ish activities sooner or later.
