Dim Sum - The New Frontier

Dec 08, 2007 15:22

I've never been to an Asian restaurant that offered Dim Sum, and today we went to Viet Town/orHouse for lunch. I cashed in a bond so we could get a tiny xmas tree and some giftmaking supplies, and with the bit left over we had lunch. I had a shrimp ball, which I think I'd do differently but keep the dipping sauce, and some different kinds of dumplings; one was pork, and one was SHARKFIN! I ate shark! I only marvel at this because when I was 12 I ate the same five things over and over because I hated trying new stuff. Anyway, it was delicious. I also got summer rolls, and they turned out to be huge, the size of bananas almost. The Dim Sum was presented Hong Kong style, pushed around on a little cart, and we were also offered chicken feet and other delicacies I wasn't quite ready to try out. I got an eggplant thing that I was too stuffed to eat by the time it arrived, so it's in the fridge, to be eaten as dinner.

Now I'm working on presents. We plugged in the tree (it's 2 feet tall and came with little white lights). It's incredibly boring and I want to figure out a way to spice it up a bit. After I work on my presents a bit I'm working on the Smileodon Star Skull and some ornaments, as we have none.

Just a lazy Saturday. Nathan's about to go visit his parents, who are in town, at his Grandma's house. I might hit the gym or do a kettlebell workout in a bit. It's so wonderful having OPTIONS in stead of OBLIGATIONS directing your day!
