At least it's over
UPDATE: JOB INTERVIEW
They didn't hire me on the spot, as happened with my last interview, but they did say I'll find out soon.
Some highlights :
My sparkling charisma got me some 'you're funny' points. My intelligence and wide array of interests was also a plus.
The lowlights:
They fidgeted. We were in the wrong room and had to move. I was demoralized going into the meeting both by the lecture from a coworker that I had done something incompletely (which was later proven to be false, as I can't be held responsible for information I'm not given and we've no base model to compare our subject to) and the woman vomiting loudly in the restroom when I went into to calm down. It was pretty awful.
They said positive things, but also realistic things. They said a few more things, which all can be boiled down to 'We already had someone in mind but we like you , keep trying to get into our department.'
True, I don't know their decision yet, but. . . somehow I just don't feel positive about it. We'll know hopefully by the end of next week.
