just going on something you've said james; mitchs so called point wasnt giving people a choice of whether they wanted to be in the debate or not; his words were: "IF YOU ARE READING THIS PICK A SIDE, EITHER STAND WITH ME OR AGAINST ME - IF YOU'RE OF THE OPINION SMUT SHOULD BE BROADCAST ON LIVE JOURNAL THEN SAY SO, IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO STAND FOR IT, JOIN THE CLUB!"
that is called an ultimatum, pick one side or the other. according to mitchs post, there is NO common ground in this discussion or even the choice of choosing; its one or the other. for 'smut' or against.

everyone else has been allowed to have their say james - huh its funny, i dont remember seeing a comment from you telling mitch to calm down and he was definitely being a much more vocal participant- everyone is entitled to their say.

furthermore what is so wrong with his point re: mitch saying his comments to benders face? one of the problems with the net is that you can comfortably say things that you might not normally say safe in the knowledge that its an electronic medium and the likelihood that someone will bring it up facetoface is minimal. its a valid point - if you're going to make ultimatums and critique someones work to the extent that it has been you should have the balls to say it their face.

from where im sitting they are all valid points.

Sense a bit of hostility there Jenna,I don't quite see why. If you have a look at any of my posts I have never told anyone what to do, nor have I discounted anyone elses view. All I said was that the situation had otherwise been neutralised and there was no need for further provocation.

As far as Mitch's point, right or wrong, or however it is worded, it is made in his own live journal, people read it by choice, people participated in the discussion by choice.

My comment about 'saying things to his face' was more centred on the patronising 'lad' at the end. Besides, I think we all know Mitch has no problem facing problems head on.

I don't know where I got you off side jenna but seriously, the intention of my post wasn't to piss any body off.

Know what Jenna, I'm more than happy to get out from behind the computer and say it, but as I recall we haven't been at uni this last week so I haven't had the chance to say anything to anybody face to face yet...I hope you're not questioning whether or not I have the balls to say things to people's faces, because that's a bit rich...
