Disclaimer: just in case anything happens i don't own the characters, don't know them , they can do what ever their little hearts desire,  this is a product of my wild imagination.

One year during Christmas Eve, while most of the other good little twelve-year old children had already fallen asleep, Ryan stood in front of the big glass window he had in his room. “What a sight.” he thought. Indeed, it was a beautiful scene. Most of the lights had been turned off had been turned off, and the stars seemed to be twinkling. The full moon had illuminated everything outside giving it an almost unearthly glow. He could hear the wind outside. It felt like it was whispering to him. They were singing lullabies to him, telling to go to sleep, trying to put him to bed as if they knew someone was coming, and they didn’t want anyone knowing who it was. “They can’t possibly think that he is coming, he isn’t, no!” he said, his voice growing more determined with every word. “It can’t be, I stopped believing a long time ago, back when I thought the world was made of love and nothing could go wrong, before my world was shattered.” he muttered to himself. Still, the view was amazing and it made Ryan feel inspired. Yes, he was inspired to write a song about the view, and this feeling of peace that had enveloped him. For Christmas, he and his best friend, Spencer had both gotten each other gifts. Spencer had asked him for drums, and he had agreed on the condition that Spencer would give him a guitar. “Maybe we could both play the song, after I write It.” he said quietly. Both Ryan and Spencer both had dreams of becoming world famous musicians. Ryan dreamed of playing in front of huge crowds. Even though he was shy and quiet, he thought that he would love all the attention he would get as the band’s lyricists. Ryan loved writing and drawing even though most people didn’t know. “They will know someday.” Ryan vowed silently. “Someday they will.” Then Ryan set off to write immediately, before he lost his concentration. “One of the only perks of being an insomniac.” He thought bitterly. The truth was that he hadn’t been able to get a good night’s sleep in a long time. He would usually fall asleep either in school or around one in the morning. He was so tired of not being able to sleep for too long, but not even that could put him to sleep. All he wanted was to just get at least one night of peaceful sleep. On Christmas Eve, that night, a miracle happened. As soon as the clock struck twelve, Ryan, song completed, was fast asleep in his warm bed where he would sleep all through the night peacefully without being disturbed by the carol of the bells outside. As the world behind his big glass window came to life, there was a faint tapping on the roof made by the stealthy hooves of reindeer. Suddenly the tapping stopped and with a final “Ho, ho, ho!” made by a mysterious man the presents appeared under Ryan’s Christmas tree. There were a lot of wonderful presents that he would open in the morning, but for now, to Ryan at least, sleep and the chance to make his dreams come true, although that gift would not make its presence known for a few years, were the greatest gifts of all.
