It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. So today officially begins the Christmas season in Denmark. Without the whole American Thanksgiving "Wait until the turkey is gone to think about Christmas" rule, they have to rely on the church, so they wait until now to really pull the decorations out. Granted, it is just like the US where stores have their Christmas stuff out weeks in advance. But now we can decorate the house.

I woke up this morning with a present on my door. Our family gives each other presents every Sunday of Advent. Weird, yeah? Cool, yeah? Except they didn't tell me about this little tradition and I had no present to give. So I just whipped out my Bradley University Chorale CD and played it for them and they were happy. Whoo hoo! We listened to the whole CD while Linda decorated. And by decorated, don't get confused and think tree. Nope, they don't put a tree up until like the 22nd, when I come home.

Last night was a blast...we had another Thanksgiving dinner with friends at my friend Nick's apartment in the city. I believe there were 13 of us all together and we feasted on ham, mashed potatoes, etc. It was really a great time, even though I woke up at 1 from the night before and then got to his apartment at 3. So I really wasn't home yesterday at all. We decided to go out last night to a karaoke bar and I definitely sang "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". Classic orientation song. It was fun. I have pictures. I will post them soon. We wanted to sing a Danish song and just butcher it, but we thought they might kill us. Which would have sucked.

Birthday party today followed by finishing up part of my group project paper that is due by midnight to one of our group members so she can put it all together. I will be GLAD when this project is OVER. But I know much more about the banking sector of the Czech Republic now. Good.
