Well, that's not a bad thing - really, it's not. Your friend's boyfriend is probably thinking the same thing because that's just how teenagers are - myself included.

And as for taking things to the next level, most say a month or so. If you're comfortable with each other then it shouldn't matter that much. It's not like anyone would be watching so if you mess up, it's okay because it'll probably feel good when you're actually doing it.
