To keep your hammering from waking the rest of us, no doubt.

What hammering? I don't hammer. There is a distinct lack of hammering at my house.

Should you choose to take up woodwork it would be different matter, would it not?

In three days? I don't see myself taking up carpentry.
Maybe I can make a walking stick. That's more whittling though.

You already have one stick; why would you need another?

Well what else am I supposed to do with all the lumber? And it's a hockey stick. There's a difference. Guy who adopted me used to make them. Bit of reminiscing. Not like we have much better to do, right?

Quite. And a stick is a stick.
...You said there's lumber available in that room of yours?

No, different shapes, sizes and purposes.
Yes. The one with my name on it.

A walking cane can be used to hit something as well as a hockey stick can.
I will be borrowing some of that wood.

Not cane. Stick. Canes are for invalids.
You plan on giving it back?

Then are you an invalid?
Not unless you would like back a pile of shavings.

Are you mentally deficient?
I said I wasn't making a cane.
Well that's not borrowing now is it.

No, but I've read hitting someone in the right place on their head can make them so.
If you aren't making a cane then why mention the possibility in the first place?
Then I'll be taking some of that wood.

You started talking about canes. I was talking about walking sticks.
I don't need it all. Have some. But if you start hitting people I'm confiscating it.

They are two names for the same thing.
Wood is no good for hitting people with. It will break eventually.

No, words make a difference. I already went over this.
It's not like we don't have a million two by fours.
