Supposedly the average adult will have read 6 of the following books...
I have read: 23 so far

1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling
5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
6 The Bible
7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
8 Nineteen Eighty Four - ( Read more... )

I think people randomly add to this list whenever they send it around.

Ou I've read 10 of them. Better than I thought, though still not fantastic. There's far more important books than a handful of ones listed there though.
Am I the only one who appreciates the beauty of the bible being listed in that gigantic list of fiction? hahaha

If you added non-fiction to that list I'd say Origin of Species, A Brief History of Time, and Cosmos are all essential, historically significant reads. (then I could bump my number up to 13!)

23 for me too! I'll have to read the rest, though...
