Ask me about picking up dead people! So I recently began work as a removal technician with a fairly well-to-do funeral home in Portland, Oregon. I've been on the job for about 3 months, and I've picked up around 150 people, with ages ranging from ~10 minutes to 106 years old.
I've seen overdoses, drive-bys, suicides, decomps, fetal death, and lots and lots of natural-causes.
So, ask me anything! I enjoy sharing, the work is fun, the stories are pretty good alot of the time, and so long as I keep names confidential, I won't get fired for it."
Even though some of the stories in that thread were disturbing (naturally), I read it all with this odd sense of wonder in the back of my mind. I could almost certainly never deal with death first-hand, but reading about it is interesting - especially considering my preferred character to write.
... And speaking of him, I have even more newfound sympathy for Shelly upon learning that one's bowels CAN empty themselves pretty much on the moment of death.
... It is even more prone to happening when you're moving the body. And that, in turn, reminds me of Gant.
Oh God, ignore me.
