A really sad Movie

Last night, I watched a movie called Hachi. At first I wasn't that excited about the movie because I already knew about the story (the movie is based on a real event), but I decided to watch it anyways because it had really good ratings in Netflix.

Spoilers about the Movie:

The movie is about an University professor  who finds a puppy (an Akita) that was left in a train station. The guy, not wanting to leave the dog there takes him home to the dismay of his wife. At first, the family tries to find the dog's real owner but decided to keep him after they became really attached to him. As the dog grows, it becomes evident that he is pretty loyal to the professor, and even follows him to the train station when his owner leaves to go to work and comes back to the train station exactly at 5 when his owner comes back from work. He does this routine for many years, until one day the owner doesn't come back from work because he dies at his job. Even though, the professor was dead the dog keeps waiting for him every day to see if we would come back (for 10 years), under the cold and rain. Until the day he dies, the dog never misses a single day of waiting for his master.

This movie made me cried so much, I almost never cry (unless the movie is extremely sad) but I guess seen the dog's loyalty and lack of understanding of his owner's death made me really emotional. Although, the main reason why I cried so much is because some years ago, I had a very loyal dog as well, his name was Beethoven, and Hachi reminded me of him.  I guess anyone who had owned a loyal dog can relate to this movie.

The real Hachi lived in the 20's in Japan. His loyalty was admired by so many Japanese that they decided to placed an statue of Hachi in the station in which he had waited for 10 years for his owner to come back.

I almost forgot:  Now I know why Nana was called Hachiko by the other members of Blast lol, I always wondered who was the famous dog that she got her nickname after, but now I know.
