wow, today was a really productive day. i'm pleased.

taco & i woke up and went down to granville island so i could get some rubina grill in my little tin lunch kit for lunch. we had some donuts and wandered around a little bit. we came back here and did some hardcore spring cleaning. we didn't finish entire apartment, but the bathroom is spotless and the kitchen area and desk area are tidy. we also put together a drawer unit from ikea (who shorted me a bunch of stuff! roar!!

the only thing that could make the day better would be if i could get massive ammounts of homework done, but that's not going to happen because ive totally run out of steam. at least the mess is manageable now, and im not overwhelmed by it anymore.

but there's always tommorrow. once my space is more organised it should be easier for me to organise other aspects of my life as well.

SPRING is here in vancouver. or at least it would appear... bulbs are sprouting and a certain kind of tree (dunno which) had blossomed. it won't be long before there will be cherry blossoms everywhere. i can't wait.

it was nice to be by the ocean and to smell it.

on saturday we went for dim sum for josh's birthday. the place (sun sui wah) is on mainstreet, so we walked up and down the street checking things out afterwards. i'd only really partially explored the area on my own before.

this is definitely the neighbourhood that i want to live in!! its great. it's not quite as sketchy/hippie as commercial, but it still has that seperate community feel to it. and there are lots of great little restaurants, markets and shops around. main-street.ca -- a link to a site about the neighbourhood. although it doesnt tell about my favourite shops in the area.

it's far enough east that i think the rental prices would be cheaper than in the kits/shaughnessy/south granville area that i live in. but not so east (hopefully) that it's crazy and sketchy. also not TOO terribly far from school. lots of eciad kids live in the commercial drive area and make it to school okay so it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

eee! there is the BEST yarn store there. they sell raw wool and you can spin your own yarn there. i cant express how much that excited me...
