I forgot to work - Neil Gaiman meme
Well, Neil posted his answers to the question and answer that The Guardian did with him, and so a few people from the Gaiman lj feed decided to do the meme as well.
I was all wrapped up in doing my packing slips and stuff for orders that i got, and ended up having to log back in because I got distracted with his meme - (you can read it at the above link - or on his blog here.) There are a few that I have the same answers as he does - They're indicated with the "ditto" in bold.
1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Reading a book I enjoy under a tree on a perfect Summer's day.
Ditto - Gods, how i'd love for a nice peaceful moment like that right now.
2. What is your greatest fear?
Something dreadful but unspecified happening to my children.
Ditto... I am still having hormonal "flashes" of really awful things happening to Collin - They're hormonally charged, and getting fewer and further between.
3. Which living person do you most admire and why?
Probably my youngest boy right now.
4. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I'm utterly disorganised and I wish I wasn't.
Ditto - It seems the more I try to get organised, the more shit just piles up on me.
5. What is the trait you most deplore in others?
The conviction that they're right - and the way that justifies their treatment of others.
After what i recently went through with the ratty people - i'm agreeing with this right now! But, more so are people who lie.
6. What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Do I have to pick just one? I've had so many, that I don't get embarrassed nearly as much as I used to. *laughs*
7. What vehicles do you own?
A Chevy Venture mini-van, and Volvo 740
8. What is your greatest extravagance?
Recently, it's been belly Dance stuff.

9. What is your most treasured possession?
My freedom
10. Where would you like to live?
The North-east US, or else in Australia.
11. What makes you depressed?
Money problems, hurtful people, not knowing what the hell is going on around me. heh - the usual sort of shit.
12. What do you most dislike about your appearance?
My belly - I've had so many surgeries in it that it looks like a road map - It's also where i carry the majority of my weight.
13. Who would play you in a movie of your life?
Haha - I just asked my husband, and he said "I'd say Cindy Crawford, but she's not good enough of an actress" he wants to get laid tonight!
14. What is your most unappealing habit?
Smoking
15. What is your favourite smell?
Jasmine and spring time.
16. What is your favourite word?
I don't think that i've ever picked a favorite word.
17. What is your favourite book?
A dictionary that my dad bought for me when i went to College. It's got all sorts of notes in it that he put there where there are references to our family heritage.
18. What is your fancy dress costume of choice?
Belly dancer, of course.
19. Radiator or air conditioning?
I'd rather be too warm than too cold.
Ditto - but, i'm already thinking about a new AC unit for when those 135 degree temps hit us in a couple months
20. Cat or dog?
I've always been a dog person - cats don't like me.
21. Is it better to give or to receive?
Giving, any time. I never know what to do with all the things I've received.
Ditto - like all that QVC shit that Bri's mom sends.
22. What is your guiltiest pleasure?
The internet.
24. To whom would you most like to say sorry and why?
My kids, i guess? The why is long, drawn out, and rather personal for a public post.
25. What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Brian - don't know what I'd do without him anymore. As much as he angers me sometimes, I wouldn't ever want to be without him.
26. Which living person do you most despise and why?
I've never made it as far as despising anyone. It takes work for me to get as far as "dislike".

27. Have you ever said "I love you" without meaning it?
Yup - Sometimes I have to force those words out to the people that I should be saying them too.

29. What has been your biggest disappointment?
There's been so many. The most recent is probably not being able to birth Collin at home, naturally - which made me regret not doing so with the other kids, when i was healthy enough to do it.

There was this moment about 2 years ago - Brian and I had just gotten together, and I had just won custody back of my boys from their sperm donor. I felt euphoric for about 3 days.
32. When did you last cry, and why?
Yesterday - because of stupid internet shit.
33. How do you relax?
Long hot baths with home-made bath salts in them.
36. What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
my knee-jerk reaction is "Money" but, i don't think that would do it. Probably a miracle "cure all" for all the things my children have gone through and the things it has done to them.
37. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My children.

As a mom who brought her children past obstacles to become productive and happy people.
