a small inquisitor

Kirsten just came and picked up David, I've been looking after him again, while she visited her mother at the hospital.
I have, by the way, been declared the legal benefactor of Mr.Pedersens will, just some formalities and everything that was his, will be mine.

But David intrigues me, I don't exsactly crave his company, but I don't shun it either. I find that thought provoking as I usually only seek out humans for means of feeding. But David's company is... pleasing... soothing.
My experience with children is very limited, but I doubt most children are like him, he's quiet, observative and thoughtful, he some how seems older that his years.
Logic dictates that I should, if not kill him, atleast avoid him, he raises questions about me, like today when he asked what was for dinner, I had to admit I didn't know, when he prompted me to go to the kitchen with him and look in the refrigiator, it was almost devoid of any consumables. David asked why there wasn't any food, I answered that I'd forgotten to do groceries, he then asked what I ate instead. I was tempted to make a remark about inquisitive little brats for instance, but he beat me to it and suggested that we order some fast food, from a pamplet Mr.Pedersen had lying in the kitchen.
I called up the take out resturant and with Davids guidance ordered us a pair of pizzas, from the images in the pamplets, I felt they were rather overpriced, but if that was what I had to do to avoid the question about my lack of any foodstuff, the extra money was a small sacrifice.
Ofcause I realized my mistake when the food arrived, the pizzas where a whole lot bigger than on the pamplet pictures.
Eating I discovered, that while the pastry with meat and vegastables held no nurishment to me, it was quite tasteful.
David however, just sat, quietly eating his pizza, observing me. When we were done, he asked why I had fangs, if I was a vampire and that was why I was so pale. Again this reference to a vampire, I will have to look into what that is, but as taught at the Laberatory, when you lie, stay as close to the truth as possible. so I told him that I was born with those fangs and didn't know how come, just with my pale skin and bright violet eyes, but I was pretty sure that I wasn't a vampire. He mulled over that a little, then asked if I could turn into mist or bat, I ofcause told him no, to which he concluded that I proberly wasn't a vampire then.

Shortly after Kirsten knocked on the door and let me know, she was home and David should get his things and hurry in and get to bed.
As he gathered up the few toys he had brought along, he looked at me again and with a thoughtful expression said to me, that if I indeed was a vampire, then I wouldn't admit it too him, would I.
I agreed that I wouldn't if I were a vampire. He thought about that for a moment, then concluded that I wasn't a vampire, because vampires were evil and I were a nice person. Then he said goodnight and left my appartment.
