I like this apartment, there's a nice view and it's getting darker still these days, I like the nights and the gentle glow of the moonlight. The moon's light is compassionate, it doesn't intrude, it just softly wraps around anything it touches.
Sun light, it hammers down from high, bright, remorseless.
Luckily, This nice apartment has larges drapes infront of it's windows, so I can shut out the light of day, but it is in fact, far more interesting is the way I came by it.
As I mentioned earlier, I left the suburbs and went to the big city, more people to dissappear amoung and greater chance to track down Grae and Ghost.
I traveled here by train, I have been here before, short visits, forages, scouting for my quarries. But this permanent visit presented a whole new set of problems, I had to find a place to stay, a place where people would not notice that a predator lived among them. I know from earlier experince that humans thrive on bureaucracy, every little detail of their meningless lives are kept on files, the most important one are the digits that prove they are who they are, how pathetic is that?
Alas it still presented a problem for me, I am not a part of their system, hence I am cannot bear scrutiny. I cannot stand it either, infact I hate scrutiny, at the Laberatory they always scrutinised me, strabbed me to the table, probed me with needles and gauges, studied me, intruded into me, into my body, into my mind, violeted me...
So I had to find a safe place to stay by other means.
Wandering the city, waiting for an oppetunity to present itself, to my complete suprise, it did just that. I had strolled into a less presentable part of town, to see if I could find a lone individual to feed on, experience has taught me that in certain neigborhoods it is less lightly for a strangled cry for help to be answered. Dismally, the cold winds and late hours had driven most people off the streets. except for some scrawny women who clustered together in groups, at the time I absently wondered why they stayed out in the open wearing so little cloth for their human bodies to ignore the cold.
Then a car that had cost far too much to actually belong to anyone in this part of town, drew to a halt beside me, the window rolled down and an elderly, presentable man, eyed me over and then asked if I was working tonight. my first impulse was to say no, but I was curious as to what he meant, it was way past the normal work hours of humans, so I nodded.
He leaned over and opened the passenger door, I got in and we drove off, as he said, to a place with a little more privacy.
I like the big city, food actually just drive up and offers itself to you.
We reached a small deserted parking lot near a park and he turned off the car and then turned in the seat, eyeing me with outright hunger, at that point I was starting to consitter that he might not be a common human after all, but someone who fed on humans like me.
Then he started to touch me, clearly it was not just eyes that where hungry, his hands where quite craving too. He said that I was very beautiful and that, that pale, albino vampire look really turned him on. Then he leaned back in his seat and unzipped his pants. Fianly I understood what the women back at the street had been doing and why he had asked me if I was working.
His free hand kept carresing my chest, while the other fought with his underwear, he smiled lewdly at me, practically drolling and his breath was comming in deep excited heaves. His free hand then grabbed the back of my head and began to pull me towards his groin, while he promised me, that if I gave him a extra special treatment, he'd make it worth my while.
He wasn't lying.
One of the main arteries in the body runs in the thigh, just past the groin, it took him a few movements before he discovered that something wasn't right and he was already groving dizzy from the bloodloss, but still, he put up somewhat of a struggle.
Afterwards, when I'd drained him dry, I had to consider my next course of action, usually I just leave'em where I drain them and move on, but this was the big city, people were bound to find the corps before long if I just left it in such a public area. so I emptied his pockets for everything of worth, hauled the body out onto the ground and into a nearby bush area where I would be less lightly to be spotted, took of his cloth and started to take him apart.
The human body, though easy enough to kill, is rather tricky to take appart, the bones break easily enough when you have my strength, but getting through the sinew and muscles took a lot gnawing, twisting and tugging. but finally I managed to have him divided into limbs, a torso and his head.
Wrapped up in his cloth, I put the parts into the cars trunk, already I was pushing my luck, by having remained here for so long. The car took a little getting use too, I am familiar with the workings of a car, but I have never driven one, but I managed to get out on the road and then I drove round the city for almost an hour, pausing at places where noone was around, to pull up a sewer grating or manhole cover and dump a bit of him there.
Having disposed of the body, I sat back in the drivers seat and began to study my findings, there were the keys to the car along with several other, his wallet held a sizable ward of bills along with several cash cards, but no codes, his identity card and drivers licens, gave me his address and pulling over one of the map collums they have around the city, I found where he use to live, Vodroffvej. just across the lake from the park where I hid his head.
Finding the place didn't take long, the keys got me into his appartment and it turned out that he lived alone, not much of a loss, I'd had more than my share tonight.
But it puzzles me that he called me a vampire, I wonder what that was, I know that the women on the street where prostituts and there are alot of slang terms for that, but vampire is not one of them. I think I saw a dictionary somewhere around here.
