It would not be a lie to say that instead of attending my 9am Human Resource Management (*yawn*) lecture this morning I instead found myself inextricably being pulled towards Macquarie Centre with the knowledge that once I reached there a session of RENT would be showing very shortly..
But man, the movie was SO FUCKING AWESOME!! I mean obviously I was always going to love it;one of my favourite musicals, the soundtrack of which I have owned since I was 11, being filmed with most of the original broadway cast, it's a pretty rare thing!! But I really think others will enjoy it as well, certainly those who go in with an open mind knowing it is a musical and thus people will be breaking into song for no reason (something the people sitting around me didn't seem to understand whilst watching The Producers). Anyhow, I sat up that back in a row all by myself and sobbed for about 10 minutes straight throughout Without You leading into I'll Cover You (Reprise). I honestly don't know when I've cried that hard in my life, let alone in a film, and I knew what was going to happen!
So, anyone who thinks they might even vaguely like musicals, go see this film now! Or in fact, anyone reading this go see it now! I said NOW!
