Things that make you go vrroooooom
The lovely Mr Colter furnished us with spare tickets for the Renault World Series event at Donnington this weekend. It was pretty damned cool - especially the bit where we were sitting in the pavillion with our fingers in our ears watching the cars thunder past. I could bore you all with details, but since we have non-petrol heads here, I'll save that for another day and instead regale you with the following tit-bits:
1) The event was in Donnington, nr Nottingham. It turns out that the traffic from the North was so bad that, despite an 'incident' in which we ended up in Donnington, Reading first - we still beat those travelling via the M1 North by a good hour or so.
2) The White Lion pub in Leek has excellent food, and serves hot, mulled wine on tap at the bar. Can things get any better?
3) Picnic benches should not be put on barbeques.
