Dec 09, 2007 12:49

I should've just posted the dag thing here first and redirected everyone from all the coms I posted this in to this entry. Meh, I fail, that's no surprise. But I did get some replies, which excites me.

Anyway, I'm writing my frontiers of communication final on journal-based RPing and how it differs or changes our conceptions of storytelling. I don't know how many people on my friends list RP, but those of you that do, I'd really appreciate your input in this survey I came up with. Comments will be screened in case you don't want anyone seeing your answers, or you can e-mail them to my RP address loreli_leigalis@yahoo.com.

Name/Pseudonym:

How did you get into journal-based RPing?
Which blog services have you RPed on?
How long have you RPed over journals?
Any other RP experience?
Which RPG genres have you participated in, and which of these do you prefer?
How do you go about selecting/designing your characters?

How has journal-based RPing affected your writing and narrative skills?
In what ways do you think writing for journal-based RPGs differs than writing for printed narratives (novels, magazine stories, etc.)?
In what ways do you think reading logs and entries in journal-based RPGs differs from reading printed narratives?
How do you think RPing sets itself apart from our conceived notions of telling stories?
What have you gained overall through RPing?

I'm looking forward to reading what you guys have to say. ^.^;;
