The long-delayed con report that no one cares about except me:
Friday most of the time I went around the dealers room scoping out stuff I might buy. Aside from the meandering, I went to a viewing room for a little bit and watched some of .hack//Roots which seemed kind of interesting and killed some time reading some comics I bought. Didn't really do much that day, but I went in a Chinese two piece dress for early Chinese New Year, even though I don't celebrate it, and some people took pictures of me. That was a little weird, heh. I'm really not a photogenic person.
Not that many cosplayers were around on the first day, but I did catch an Evo Rogue and Gambit. Cute. Even though I think Rogue was kinda young for Gambit in the Evoverse.
Saturday's when all the cosplayers came out to play, and when most of my con pics were taken. Wandered around some more for merch and photo ops. I think I went to a couple panels here and there, but the one I remember from the top of my head was the Heroes panel, where they discusses the basics of the show and some theories and how hot some of the cast was. XD The hostess of the panel was dressed up like Simone, which was spiffy. Too bad Simone's dead now.
Anyway, pics. Yeay!
Kotetsu, Asuma, some guy hiding behind Asuma I can't really make out, and Izumo. The Kotetsu particularly looked pretty good, but with the collar over half his face you can't really tell in that pic. I cry for Asuma. Not the cosplayer, the character. Poor guy.
Akatsuki group pic! It's pretty cool how there was a whole group together for a pic. There are a couple doubles, like Tobi and Deidara, but still a cool pic. The Zetsu head still amazes me. Must've been a chore doing that.
Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Don't know exactly what series or universe they're from, since I'm not too familiar with Batman in general, but they still looked cool, especially the Catwoman.
Ah-ha ha, it's the vision impaired Sokka and Katara! Vision impaired since we both have glasses. XP I was going around the dealers room when that guy told me, "Nice costume." I said, "Oh, thanks," and then I realized he was Sokka, got excited, and got a pic with him as "brother" and "sister."
Whoa, this pic came out wonky. O.o;; Yeay for series one Satoshi! There were I think two other Satoshi cosplayers around, actually, but this one wanted a pic of me as Katara so I asked if I could take a pic of her in return since Pokemon is still so much love. Aside from some Rocket-dan cosplayers, I don't think there any other people dressed as Pokemon characters. I kinda hoped I'd see some DP cosplayers, but meh, maybe I'll just buy pieces for a makeshift Hikari costume. Might want to make the skirt longer though, heh.
I took a break out in the lobby and find an Azula and Toph, whoot! They were actually part of a bigger group, but at the time I only caught these two.
Shhh, just pretend I'm their Katara even though I'm not.
Haado Gei desu, uooou~! XD
Aw dag, this pic came out fuzzy, too. >.<* The Tousen guy was hot looked cool, and Bankai Ichigo was all right too, but the way the pic looks it seems like Ichi's about to barf in that trashcan. Oops. Garbage recepticals make such scenic photo locations, don't they?
Byakuya and Tousen. Honestly, I really wanted to take a pic of just Tousen, but he was hot, and I was way too shy to approach him, so I asked Byakuya to join in. She sounded irritated when I asked her, so I was a little scared of her and tried to snap the pic quick. I don't know, I think I have a thing for Tousen cosplayers. Every one I've seen was somewhat hot. Maybe it's the same few guys attenting all the cons and recycling the costume, but still. Hot Tousens, mmm.
This Avenged Sevenfold groupie wishes he were a bender, feh. I don't know why I kept this pic. I don't even know the guy. XD
This is earlier Azula and Toph's group, with Katara, Zuko, and Sokka. Not VisImp Sokka, though. In general their costumes all came out nicely. The Sokka looked especially good since he's actually built like him, lanky but fairly muscular.
The Katara looked pretty nice too, and I thought about getting a pic with her since we were cosplaying the same charry, but then I felt sort of down because I wondered if she made the better Katara. I don't cosplay a lot, and Katara's the one well-known character I've dressed up as and has essentially become my character, so when I saw the other Katara chick I felt sort of competitive towards her, and since I don't have the best self-concept ever, obviously I thought she looked like the better one. It's nothing at all against Sis's (
thedrearyraven) sewing--she sews my outfits, since I'm sewing inept--because the costume looks great; it's simply me having some sort of inferiority complex.
Supposedly a litte kid Aang was around, but I never saw him. Darn.
I went back in the dealers room feeling kinda crappy, and who did I find?
HOLY FARK FREAKING HAWT ISHIDA COSPLAYER ER-RARUGH!!!11one
So yah, there was no way I'd let myself not snap a pic of the FREAKING HAWT ISHIDA COSPLAYER, so I stalked him for about 15-20 minutes tried to catch him for a photo but kept being too shy to approach the FREAKING HAWT ISHIDA COSPLAYER missing him. Then, ooh ooh guess what? Soon as I stopped feeling crappy over whether other chick or I was the better Katara, a not so attractive Matsumoto cosplayer chick made out with the FREAKING HAWT ISHIDA COSPLAYER and I died infinite deaths inside. Well, not really, but I went back to feeling crappy again even after I managed to get a pic of the FREAKING HAWT ISHIDA COSPLAYER. Le sigh, love is a fickle, tricksy thing. I am so pathetic. -.-;;
But enough emoing because no one likes an emo douche.
Justice League action, up up and away! Well, only Green Lantern, Batman, and Wonder Woman, but that's okay. Awesome.
I didn't take that many pics of Naruto cosplayers, even though there were a lot as expected. I guess when it comes to a frequently cosplayed series like Naruto, it's become harder to be really impressed because you've seen so many already. Saw lot of Narutos and Sakuras pre/post-timejump, Sasukes, Temaris (one timejump), Kakashis, Hinatas (two timejumps), and Tentens, but they looked generally so-so. There was a cute mommy timejump Naruto and a baby Kyuubi, but I didn't get a pic of them.
Sunday was just catch up on merch shopping day, but I was being stingy and kept waiting for vendors to slash prices like they do sometimes on the last day of cons. They didn't this time, and all I did was waste time and miss out on some stuff I wanted to buy, like a couple Robin and New X-Men issues I didn't have, some shitajiki because I heart collecting useless pencilboards, Overman King Gainer coin figures that I'd have no use for but wanted anyway because you never find any OKG stuff anywhere, and and...this t-shirt. *cries*
Red and Lee-licious, such a winning combo in my book. Too bad I waited too long to buy it. I suck.
Did catch up on most of my manga and bought these:
Uwaah. Kiba shitajiki? Kiba anything? It's so unloved I doubted I'd find anything of it at the con. O.O I wanted to buy some Rave--gasp, Rave merch!--and a Naruto movie 03 shitajiki, too. Didn't get around to it, boo.
Quincy necklace, IT'S SO PWETTY! *fangirls* But the camera flash made it blurry, blarugh. That camera still confuses me. I saw this necklace at three different vendors, and one of them sold it for $12 instead of $15, but I couldn't remember which one did. I went to one of the $15 ones and, since I'm a cheap shmuck and haggling makes me feel mean, had my friend Angela barter it for three bucks less for me. XD
Oh yeah, I like to put on my high school grad robe and pretend I'm a Quincy Archer. Like I pretend I'm a ninja. And a waterbender. And a shardcaster. Anything but a loser 20-year old college sophomore who needs to invest in a proper life.
Done now. Go spend your time doing something productive now, yosh.
