As stupid, ill-informed, and naive as this sounds, all the jaded Naruto "fans" make me feel really guilty for still enjoying this supposed PoS and make me feel better about not delving into the fandom

I can understand if they want to criticize some of the storytelling decisions and developments and maybe compare them to more strongly written chapters or story arcs within the series. But sometimes they're being so negative about how the series is unfolding that I wonder why they're even bothering. Go back and read the parts of Naruto you did like, or take a break from the series and cool down. I don't know, it's just aggravating.

Yes, the characters! When it comes to any story, I'm more of a characters than plot person. Even if the plot isn't amazing, if the characters are I can stick by it to the end. I think in general, Kishimoto is capable of writing pretty good characters. The problem is, he's coming up with so many now that I wonder if he has a problem keeping track of his entire cast. Compared to Part I and Part II, though, he did a better job with his Part I cast. There are just too many new characters I feel nothing for in Part II, like the most of Akatsuki, Team Snake/Hawk/what the feck ever -- heck, in my personal, unreasonable, stupid headcanon, Madara doesn't exist somehow. Don't ask me to explain it. I just forget he's an actual character or something. XD;;
