So my 30th was amazing, and my weekend... well all I can say is wow! However this afternoon something is getting to me, so I will not post about that right this moment, instead you get a little reflecting and insight into my past.
Please watch this video. If you have any information on the disappearance please contact Kent County Sheriffs department at Phone: (616) 632-6100 This is a childhood babysitter of mine and they have reopened her cold case. All help is appreciated.

We miss you Deanie.
I have also posted this on my page if you need later reference.
Thanks,
Nicci
I posted this on my Myspace and in a bulletin after my mom called and told me about the video and that they were reopening the cold case .... finally. Katt asked me a bit later if I was ok. I started talking and didn't realize till this how much this really still affects me.
It is sometimes hard to realize how much things that you have pretty much forgotten about from your childhood affect you until they are brought up later. Deanie babysat for me when I was 3-5 when she disappeared. She was a friend of one of our neighbors and lived close by. Deanie disappeared from the middle school where she was at a after school basketball game. She went out of the game to go to the bathroom and was never seen again. I mean how????? We lived in a "safe" area. It is a wealthier school district in a good area and not one that you would think of this type of thing happening in. How does a 14 year old disappear without a trace?
I didn't think this affected me that much. Yeah every night as a kid I would add onto my prayers at night to "help Deanie come home safe" even 10 years after she disappeared. Yeah I was always overprotected a little more. But that is normal parent behavior. I don't know if it is because I now am older and have a child of my own or what, but I guess it kinda blindsided me and hit me quite hard when I saw this video. How can 25 years later we still are no closer to finding out what happened? How, with all the technology and resources that we have now that we didn't have then can we not have the closure?
Wait, I know. Politics. I hate rich fuckers. I hate families of rich dead fuckers almost more. About 5 years ago there was a detective that was on the local force that was assigned to the cold cases. He was good. He had one case before Deanie's and that was the Fryling case. Well Fryling was a rich guy in the area that was found dead in his home one day. Shot. Well the detective solved the case. Like it was his fault that Fryling was sleeping with a trashy Division street hooker and she and her pimp got coked up one day and went and robbed him and shot him dead. The cop got fired. Wow, they said it was for something stupid, but we all knew it was because he didn't sweep under the rug and let everyone know that Fryling was getting cheap hookers and drugs. Deanie's case once more was left behind.
I didn't realize till today just how much this all affected me, or how much it still hurts to not have the closure. I only knew Deanie briefly in my youth, yet I still have an open wound. I can only imagine how those that she was very close to feel today even. May this time the case be solved and offer closure to all those it is effecting.
