Resolutions for 2009

Jan 02, 2009 00:05

More like a checklist of things that I want to do for the New Year.

Chronicle this most AMAZING year of my life!
Ok, so it may not quite turn out to be that way, but something tells me that 2009 is going to be simply amazing. I woke up this morning and rolled around, but if my instincts are right, there will be many, many challenges this year. Labby invited me to join in Project 365, and it’s just what I need to get me off my ass.

Enrol myself for CELTA at British Council
I look at the admissions exercise sheet and go, “Oh crap!” I’ve never been one of those who care about tenses and the like, as English was the first language I learnt. I know instinctively how a sentence would sound, and explaining it is often a simple task. But I mentioned challenges, and I shall overcome it!

Get a new external Harddisk
Tamako doesn’t like talking to Kuro. Or at the very least, doesn’t like transferring Blood+. T_T

Spend time with family
I neglected them a lot last year, but it was only towards the last 3 months of 2008 that I realised just how lucky I was. My parents do care for me, and though they may drive me crazy, I wouldn’t change them for the world. My brother is simply awesome, even though we do have our fights, but there’s no other brother I would have (blood-related).

Retire from Cosplay
I mentioned in passing to a few people that I would give up Cosplaying after doing Saya for Blood+, but that didn’t quite work out due to several factors. As it is though, I will be doing Saya for the last time during GACC. Should I manage to find the contacts and the outfit, I will also be doing Count D from Petshop of Horrors. I’ve wanted to do Count D for ages but never had the opportunity nor inclination.

Strengthen ties with those who matter the most
As Silvy sis said, the New Year is the day when friendships are shattered, formed and strengthened. Thanks for the talk, sis. I appreciate that. Thanks too, to Shaun for the counsel.

Personal Mission: Get CF registered as a proper society. Somehow.
It WILL happen this year. I don’t know how, but I want to see Comic Fiesta become a registered organisation. To the committee members; we’ve been talking about this for donkey years. Isn’t it time we do SOMETHING about it?

Finish Keys to Twilight and Dreamer’s Kiss.
I should not start on new projects till these are done.

What are yours?

Edit: Tarot.com can be uncanny. For the card in “Challenges/Situations” of the Celtic Cross reading:

Challenges/ Opportunities: Justice

Self-scrutiny gives you an opportunity to review and reset your standards.

The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.

With Justice in this position, turn what could be a potential embarrassment into an opportunity to be honest, learn and grow. Let correction take place. This card is a reminder to steer your ship back to the center channel where you can move with the current, the natural flow.

Chastisement is meted out only if you are greedy or, conversely, self-negating. Justice demands an appropriate investment by all participants. This is an excellent opportunity to raise your standards as well as your self-esteem.
