I know... I don't update much anymore. Just the big bombshells really ;-) And I've promised lots of pictures I haven't delivered... because we've somehow have lost the cable connecting the digi cam to the computer when we moved into the new house. It is also the method we use to charge the camera's battery so I am going to have to replace it very soon. The battery has a good life, I must say, especially seeing as we haven't charged it since Christmas.
We DO have all the pics I've promised though, LOL! I Can't WAIT to put up the pics of the house and wedding and such! I need to take some of my belly!! Being pregnant this time is so different. When I was pregnant with Jabe, I was so overweight that you couldn't see pregnant belly really, you just saw "bigger fat." Sometimes when I look at myself now I still think that, too but then I really check it out I see HUGE baby bump. It's very obvious. The weight is coming on a lot faster than I'd hoped... I was thinking I wouldn't gain much if any in the first trimester... WRONG! I'm within 5 pounds at this half way point of what I should gain OVERALL. All for a good cause though :-) I lost 110 pounds dammit... I have a right to fret over weight coming back. But I'm by no means gping to NOT gain while pregnant. I'll just t ake it off later. Everyone says I did it once I can do it again. And I can. It was just so hard to do.
We're about to buy me a new car... or a new minivan rather. I have mixed feelings about it. I've never had a NEW off the lot car before. I've never seen a reason to buy new. I've also never had the means to buy new and I do now. I do and always have driven cars until they just don't run anymore, usually around the 10 or 11 year mark. If I buy new with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty... and I take care of it the way I know I take care of my cars (no telling what previous owners have done), then it should make it way past that 10 year mark. My Caravan that I drive now has been a fantastic vehicle and has me addicted to minivans. I know, I'm a dork :-) But I LOVE minivans now. Plus they are SO easy for me to get in an out of with my knee. I don't even notice it's impaired as I get in and out of the minivan. When I get in and out of Brian's car it is amplified.
The caravan I would keep but it is coming up on the 10 year mark for it and has almost 230,000 miles. The air conditioner doesn't work, the heater only works on the highest setting (GREAT for me but my husband is miserable LOL!), the windsheild is cracked and the service engine light is coming on (though we haven't figured out why yet). The things that are wrong with it NOW would cost more to fix than I paid for the vehicle. That means it's time. Plus my husband hates me driving a vehicle with as much mileage as this one has. Of course he wants his family in something more reliable. Thus, this was his idea ;-) But it's growing on me. Imust have a vehicle with air conditioning before it gets too hot and I'm pregnant int he heat of summer!! (I'm due at the end of July... July 29th. Though the doctor said last time it could be as late as August 4th).
I think I've decided and picked out the one we're buying. I'm still nervous though... I second guess the color I picked out. I have ALWAYS said if I bought new it's be black, period. And I do like the black one... except that it has gray interior. I DESPISE the color gray. I hate for ANYTHING to be gray. My countertops are gray and I growl at them everytime I walk by (no, not really). All my friends say get the gray interior, it doesn't show stains as much and beige has to be cleaned more. Humph. I like the beige interior the best. I LOVE the beige interior. And let's face it... with 2 or 3 kids in there at all times, I'm going to be cleaning the hell out of the interior anyway! I think the black exterior is out of the question with kids and little hands all around it... it gets so hot int he summmer a black vehicle (Brian has one) actually causes burns just when touched. The only other clor I like is White. I hate the gray, silver, gold, light blue, dark blue, olive gray, and burgundy. I don't like any of them. They just look... blah to me. Or they just aren't *me.* I'm not a "light blue minivan" kinda person. I'm not a burgundy kinda person. I'm not any of those colors. I like the white one. It looks... rich. And the black looks stealthy. But no black. So the white.
Then we have to consider cleaning the exterior of the white and how dirty it will look. My friend jason had a white accord for a long time, and complained about the tar and getting it off and how bad you see it. I have to say, I rode in that vehicle with him at least 3 times a week... I never noticed it. It always looked clean. Now... the beige interior didn't always look clean.... :-( So basically... I'm going to have to decide what I'm willing to live with.
I think I'm getting the white one. Yeah. I'm pretty much set on that. Just waiting on the tax return now to top off what we're paying for it. Yeah, I just had to think aloud on this. Any thoughts on the cleaning/least of the evils?
We had our ultrasound a few days ago. Got to watch the baby stretch and twist and jump and... maybe cry? Not sure what all she's doing in there... but she is very active and likes to jump around :-)
That's right... I said She :-) I'm so excited! We're having a little girl!! Jabe is SUPER excited. He's said from the beginning, "My sister is that baby. I'm gonna be big brother and have little sister!" We tried to talk to him about it maybe being a boy but he would have none of it. He said, "I want sister AND brother. That baby in the belly is my sister." We;re doing her room in Ladybugs. I love lady bugs :-) We've got all furniture except her dresser... I'm having a hard time finding that (found the one I want, but no one stocks it and Babies R Us claims they can't order it...) I'm a little comfused as to why the damn thing is on the manufacture's website at this point. But anyway :-)
I think I am going to go back to bed for a little while. The hubby is off to work, the kid is at school and I'm off today. So I can do that :-)
