I hatehatehatehatehate my job. Wow, this day has started off really fucking shitty. I just got a rather nasty e-mail from my manager. Someone came to my desk this morning asking about one of my accounts. She asked if I had the backup for this account. I looked around on my desk and found that I did have it. I have had it since June 23. This needs a bit of explanation: Every month we get a payment from the group and what we call backup from the group. Backup tells us who they are paying for and how to allocate their money. We must have both of these things before we can reconcile an account. If you do have both of these things, then the account must be reconciled by the end of the month so that we remain "current". Now, I had the June backup for this account on my desk since June 23, yet, the account was not reconciled. I remembered, after finding it when asked about it, that I had this in June and I remembered that I didn't, at that time, have the payment. So, I had put the backup aside with a little sticky (which is still on it) that said pmt not rcvd yet. What happened next??? I fucking forgot about it. So, the payment comes in on July 2. This means that I now have to get it done by end of July for current accounts...only I forgot it was there. So, it didn't get done. Now, the person who came to my desk asked when I got the backup and I told her June 23. She tells my manager. Why? Because she's a cunt like that. So, I still don't realize anything is wrong until I open my e-mail and find something that says ".....blah blah....this is unacceptable....blah blah." Then I think...oh shit. So, I get to looking and I have 1.2.3.4.5......5?!?!? Yes, 5 accounts sitting on my desk with the same scenario. :-O What does this mean??? This means that Jodi is in big big trouble. This means that Jodi could possibly get fired when her boss finds out. That's right, she doesn't know yet. I'm sure she'll find out though. Fired = very very bad. Fired = my bills don't get paid because Jason doesn't make enough to cover them all. Now, the e-mail also asks for an explanation as to why I have held on to these accounts. :-/ What the fuck is my answer supposed to be??? "I'm sorry Lisa, I'm an incompetent ass and I just plain forgot." :-| Yeah...that'll work. Riiiight. "I forgot" is the lamest excuse and she totally won't buy it. What'll happen is....she'll think I held them on purpose because I didn't want to do the work. Bonus--I'm already on final notice due to "excessive" tardies. YAY!!! Second Bonus--If I do get fired, they just call you down to HR and tell you to bring your purse or whatever. So, you know what's coming. Then they won't let you go back up to get your things because they don't want an "incident" so, they pack up all your stuff for you....and mail it to you. :-/ Well, at least I can collect unemployment if I get fired for performance issues.
