What did the snail say when he was on the turtle's back?

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

So yay, I have a goat for my mood indicator. Happy me. Bahhhh. I like my new layout, though I'm trying to figure out how to get a picture for my background instead of just a solid color and I can't seam to do it. I picked out another cat picture because for some reason I have this thing for funny cat pictures...they're so goofy. Maybe I'll just switch my personal picture to the new goofy cat picture just so everyone can enjoy it just as much as I did.

So, hmmm...I'm not sure where I left off, well, the bad mood I guess. Anyway, the important thing was that Lesbian movie night was awesome. And then porn and chicken was great too. We didn't really watch real porn. We watched "101 sexual blunders" or something like that and then a dollar store porn called CB Hustlers which is about women who service truck drivers and then we finally turned on real porn but it was too gross so we watched Family Guy instead...always a good back up. We bought, or rather I bought, 4 bottles of Boonsfarm for that evening and the next few nights because it was 2 for $4 which tells you just how high class me and my friends are.

Monday we had Brad Paisley. Boy that was a long day. We had call at 8:45 and then the load-in didn't really end until about 4. Strangely enough the load-out wasn't bad at all and we got out pretty early but I was exhausted. I did spots for the first time in my life. Too bad it wasn't exactly a laid back show to learn on. Every two seconds the lighting guy was like "Ok hit the fiddle player, now the steel guitar player, now the stage right guitar player, now back to brad, okay, stand by to go to black." I was sweating like a beast and even though I was wearing a glove and a sleeve thingy to protect me from the heat of the spot, all the heat was still coming through. Then, to make the evening super interesting, a bat decided that it would pay us a visit for the last 20 minutes of the show. The roadies we were working with were kind of like "bah, women can't do this work" at first but then, as they usually do, they warmed up to us and the rest of the day was great and a lot of fun actually. Brad was pretty good and kinda cute (from what I could see at 4 or 5 stories up and about 100 feet away. Ha ha.

Yesterday though, and George you'll be jealous...or at least I hope you will ;) I worked on Ani Difranco's road show (you might be a little jealous too Liz...hee hee). It was so funny because she's been through so many styles and stuff that me and some of my friends actually mistook her opening artist for her...oops. But anyway, we met her husband who she married and does her monitors. It sounds silly but it was so cool working with her crew and stuff...taping down her carpet, plugging all the sound equipment together, putting up the lights. The coolest thing was that they were the only people who had decorated some of their things. The monitor guy, Shawn, had a pirates flag on his sound board and stickers all over his EQ stuff and some tape that said "shut up and mix". The recording guy was cool too and he had just switched over to a laptop and didn't know about the f11 button on the new OS so I actually taught him something, albeit small. Apparently in every theater or town they've been to someone gives Ani a lizard of some kind (toy, made of tape, ect.) and then when they set up all her things they put a lizard on each monitor. Well, CB and Lacee got plastic dinosaurs from the dollar store and gave them to her. The concert, from what I saw of it, was great. I missed some because I was really hyper so I was running up and down between a Euchre game and then riding around in golf carts with Jenny and Josh...yippee! There's a kid on our crew who was working the show and when he found out he was working it he got all pissy and was like "I don't want to work Ani's show because she's a man hater." Well, little ole me was speechless. I asked him if he had ever listened to her music and he said that he hadn't and that some feminists had told him she was a man hater. So I tried to explain to him that just because she is a feminist doesn't mean she is a man hater. The funny thing is that her entire crew is made up of men. She married a man. Her bass player is a man. There are plenty of talented women out there that I'm sure if she hated men that much she would have populated her crew with fellow man haters or at least women for christ's sake. I also told him that maybe he should actually come to the concert and listen to her music and the he would find out for himself that not only is she not a man hater, she is a very talented and intelligent artist who's music just moves me. I can't even express how it makes me feel. There are so many emotions. Whatever, he wouldn't like her anyway, he is in love with America and Bush. Now, don't get me wrong, I am in no way putting down America. I love this place. I'm free to do so many things that other people in other countries are not free to do, but come on, have a sense of humor and realize that not everything in American is happy happy goody goody. I mean, I started singing "America, Fuck Yeah!" and he got totally pissed. So, I've given up reasoning with him because the arguments I've had with him have been ridiculous and there's no winning. He got pissed when CB said "tampon" a little loud, like she was swearing at a 5 year old or something. At that point I was like "well hon, everyone should be free to speak about menstruation because at one point everyone is going to have to deal with it and it's not like it's dirty or inappropriate. I could go on and on but I'll spare you...(haha, you're all like "why didn't you spare us five million sentences ago!")

So...what's today? Resting mostly. We put our sound system back today in Kresge and then I'm going to see Michael Cooper tonight which should be fun. He's a family entertainer with puppets and other stuff. Next week is going to be crazy. Jewel is coming and then I'm working the High School musical Rags which means that starting sunday I'm not going to be able sleep past 7 for the next week. :-( And everyone who knows me knows that I'm not a morning person. The only mornings I wake up willingly before 10 is if I was drunk the night before...and it's usually just because the hangover wakes me up or I have to use the bathroom. So yeah, not fun...think of me getting up early and sleep in a little extra and then send me that extra sleep or something like that.

Anyway, I have to get back to making my collage. It was going to be soooooo cool. One of my coworkers wanted the July issue of playboy because one of the girls from "The L word" was going to be in it but I went too late and couldn't find it but I was going to get two and then cut all the tits and vaggies out of the mag and give it to her that way and make a collage out of the cut out stuff and then after she was sufficiently pissed off I was going to give her the intact one but because I couldn't find it anywhere I just got the August Lingerie one and I'm going to make a collage just for the hell of it...which is kind of fun except all the girls are so pretty it makes me feel self-conscious all over again...I just need to keep telling myself that airbrush is a wonderfully overused thing.

Ok...stop reading this. You're wasting your time :-*
