self reliance
wow was july the last time i posted!....anyways as all of you probly already know alex is deployed to iraq.....im stuck here...but with my sister thank goodness. the past couple of days have taught me how to handle certian situations that normally id have to rely on alex to do. my friend that i met up here joanna was moving back home to los angeles so she asked if she could stay with me for a few days before her flight....and i agreed (she has a 2 year old son by the way) i had to baby proof alot of stuff in the house though because that kid likes to get into EVERYTHING. so on the day that joanna was supposed to leave i went with her to go get her car shipped and just yesterday the battery light on my dash kept coming on,so i was alittle worried taking the car out and all. while i was following her to the shipping place the car starts jerking alot when i step on the brakes so we pull into this unmanned gas station and my car dies on me! eek! so i get into joannas car and continue to the shipping place where we borrow some jumper cables and drive back to my car,neither of us even know or remember how to use them,but luckily there was this guy there who hooked them up for us. i got my car started and again continued on to the shipping place,when i got onto the johanssen expressway my car starts doing the same thing ggrrrr! so i pull over to the side and get into joannas car and continue on to the shipping place when we get there they say she has too much gas in her car and she cant ship it today.....so she has to reshedule her flight until the next day,meanwhile i call a towtruck company and get a quote,at first i want them to take me to wal-mart so that i can have the battery replaced....why else would the battery light be coming on? so joanna takes me back to my car and im still on the phone and the guy tell me it could be my alternator and they could check it out at the service station....so i have them tow it there.when joanna an di get there they say that they will work on it tommorrow because tis too late in the day.i was worried about how much it was gonna cost to fix my car! tommorrow comes and i get a call from alex!!!!!! yay!!!! hes worried about me and the car (he knows because i email him everyday to let him know how i am and what ive been up to) its always so nice to hear his voice. he was glad that i was okay. later in the day the mechanics finally call me to let me know my car is done they said that the alternator came loose and that the bolts were loose and the belt came off....they fixed that so all in all the total including the tow is $188 not too bad! it could have been way worse (of course my dad thinks its too much....but mechanics are never cheap so im not complaining) knowing that i have no money until friday when we get paid i still go to pick up my car becuase sometimes my card when i put in in credit will allow for the charge to go through.....well it didnt this time....so i had to wait until missy could come get me (joanna couldnt cuz earlier that day she shipped her car) i asked them if they charged me for everyday the car was there....they said only after 5 days....no problem! friday was 2 days away. so thats that and i dont think i could have handled it any better. joanna is gone now and i miss her :( oh well,but she has inspired me to be more social because im such a recluse.
