This is wonderful and hilarious. You need to read it right away.
Stuck in my head all day:
I been thinking lately about the people I meet
The carwash on the corner and the hole in the street
The way my ankles hurt with shoes on my feet
And I'm wondering if I'm gonna see tomorrow
Fish and whistle, whistle and fish
Eat everything that they put on your dish
And when we get through we'll make a big wish
That we never have to do this again...
Spent all morning yesterday, and most of the evening, in Illustrator. Trying something new - just blocking out color, instead of the Thousand Fiddly Details technique I used before. Then I export everything to Photoshop and do the shading. I like this better, I think.
This is about half done - I'm annoyed with the way the glove came out, but as I've already done a bunch of other bits I'm not sure I can go back and fix it. Illustrator isn't like riding a bike, unless when you get back on a bike after a couple of years you take a header into some shrubbery. Which I probably would do, so maybe it is like riding a bike.
Anyway -- I don't think I did that one quite detailed enough (though I am pleased with the jersey) so I did another one. I finished the rendering this morning. Haven't done enough airbrushing yet to show you that.
Now I have to learn how to paint faces in Photoshop. What joy. What fun. What do you mean I'm avoiding it? I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't just open Illustrator up again, I swear.
And by the way? This is it. No more rendering goalies. I went with them in the first place 'cos it's really hard to do organic things and there's less human I'd have to draw. But the nets made me cross-eyed.
