Haiku

Oct 04, 2009 16:32

A month or so ago, on a forum that I am on, a haiku game was played were subjects were given and all who wanted to could write haiku on them. There were no judges or prizes, just the fun of writing. I can't and won't say that my poems are any good, but I had fun. So I am posting them here for you who wish to read them. Thanks.

Bananas

Bananas turn black
Very rapidly it seems
Make banana bread

**************

Boys

There is no reason
For boys to be annoying
And still lovable

**************

Daisies

There is Daisy Mae
And beautiful Daisy Duke
Why can't I be one?

*******************

Dust bunnies

I am not a maid
I do not clean under beds
I have dust bunnies.

****************

Fog

Nebulous vapor
Rolls in and changes my world
Trees become giants

****************

Forest fires

Clouds of smoke rising
Over the forest of trees
The whole world's aflame

*******************

Friendship

Where would we all be
Without the bonds of friendship?
We would be so sad.

******************

Petals

The cut rose withers
Lost petals drop to the floor
They shrivel and die

********************

Pirates

Dread Pirate Robert's
Ship looms on the horizon
I quake in my boots

********************

Purring cats

Purring happy cat
Your vocalization is
So soothing to me

*******************

Scrambled eggs

Chicken eggs beaten up
Into an amorphous goo
Taste good when heated

******************

Space ships.

At first they go up
Then they come down very fast
Hope they do not crash

********************

Spiders

Creapy eight-legg'd beasts
Make me run away and cry
I am so afraid

********************

Strawberries

Strawberries taste great
When picked freshly from the field
Sweetness to my tongue

**********************

Tentacles

See my tentacles
I swim in the ocean free
Come closer to me

******************

Ties

Bless'd be the ties
That binds our hearts together
In the bonds of love

*********************

Vacations

I am so burnt out
I need a vacation now
Boss, please let me go?

***********************

Watermelon

Watermelon seeds
Encased in a sea of red
Could mean future life
