So it's five days into October and I've yet to have any sort of financial crisis for the month. Knock on wood here. I did go to Bottom Dollar Foods for groceries the other day and man is that the saddest place. I don't think I even saved much compared to going to Giant Eagle. I did help a tiny Spanish lady with drawn-on eyebrows find corn meal to make polenta though haha. Everyone there was weirdly nice actually. I'll probably stick with Giant Eagle though regardless of how broke I am. Payday is this week after all.
Thursday I went out for my walk/jog as usual and literally at the halfway point where I turn around it started raining. And then it started pouring. So I'm jogging back to the bridge and then it's legitimately storming like crazy, lightning all over the place. I dashed from the bridge all the way back home, learning that on Neville apparently instead of the water draining anywhere it just pools on the sidewalks, so my shoes were soaked through. By the time I got to my front yard it was like a monsoon. I got inside and upstairs just in time to see five or six bolts of lightning strike the same place over Pittsburgh in rapid succession. It was actually pretty awesome although here it is Saturday and my legs still hurt. My shoes have dried though at least. :V
Today I washed every article of clothing in the house and folded everything as well. I vacuumed the entire upstairs after putting carpet fresh into all the rugs and cleaned the toilet and tub. I got some kind of rash on my elbow from one of the cleaners, idk. Next I should probably do the kitchen but I'm beat and Kita is comfy on my lap so.
Lol yesterday Kita drank all her water and then made a serious attempt to bring me her water bowl for refills. I'm like what the fuck is that dog doing in there and I went in the kitchen to see the bowl upside down and halfway to the door. My poor thirsty puppy.
Got my first ripe blackberry today! It was actually decently tasty too. Every blackberry I bought this year was too hard and tart. This one was nice and soft and sweet. So I'm looking forward to hopefully a decent harvest next year. I think I planted them too late in the year considering it's October and they're only now ripening. There's only a few anyway.
Now it's thundering again. :>
Here is a link to the first episode of Welcome to Night Vale if anyone is interested in listening. It's kind of vaguely creepy so if you're trying to get into the Halloween spirit maybe you'll like it. IDK.

I still adore it. There is a lot of excellent satire and some truly amazing quotes.
Looking for a home security system? Good luck with that. Want to feel safe when driving your car? Get in line. Fearful when walking alone at night? Well you should be. When life seems dangerous and unmanageable just remember that it is, and that you can’t survive forever.

All I know, Night Vale, is that we should all be so lucky to set our own futures. Dana did not. I don’t know that I will. Each day the sun rises and sets. The moon pulls the tides. Our hearts beat. Our loved ones love us back. And we share our inhales and exhales with the great organism that is our tiny planet. But, as you watch the sun rise again tomorrow morning, think to yourself: past performance is not a predictor of future results. And then force a smile, drink another cup of coffee, and try not to look down as you walk across the soil that will eventually fill your lifeless lungs and repurpose your corpse. Each day that is, is a blessing, Night Vale.
Ugh it's so messed up but awesome. And it's been helping me get through a tough couple of months.
I just feel like I try so hard and I just keep getting kicked down again and it's getting harder to force myself back up with a smile on my face but at least there's the little things keeping me sane.
Mmm okay it's really getting dark outside now, I think it's going to storm again. So I should probably shut my window so my bedroom doesn't get soaked like last time. :V Still can't get up...
Oh okay yeah major lightning now better do that
