well, guess it's time for a rant and to express some views. so, here we go. commercial america and our lack of the first amendment right.
"The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of worship, of speech, of the press, of assembly, and of petition to the government for redress of grievances." (

that being said, let's look at that status not just in america, but in other biggies like canada, the u.k., japan, germany, australia and so on. in america we DO have this amendment, but only so much. actually, i can't speak much of other countries except that they have less freedom than we do. but, on america: we have freedom of worship, sure, but now we're more concerned with not offending people that it takes precedence. in my experience, everything okay except christians like me. i am okay with other religions, not that i agree with them, but i am okay with them there. i don't hate or discriminate and i am so totally all about respect for everyone. yet, let's look. it's okay for, during the special times of year, for muslims/hindus in my former highschool to get a private room for prayers. it's okay to carry wiccan books, the muslim holy book, the buddhist holy book, and so on in the school library, but no holy bible of the christian. what is that all about? what happened to equality? i do no know. i don't mind other people having their specific needs met, but what about mine? what about someone curious about christianity? it's been said that if someone wants to know about GOD then go to church, it's not for school. then how come there's others gods' books and info and such in school? is that okay? WHERE is the EQUALITY? that's all i am saying here. there is a lack of equality on that front. let's not step on anyone's toes here, because that would be most grievous.
what about the press and what not? who owns them? big bussiness. do i get to air a commercial about what i think about the war? no. why? because a commercial company doesn't want 'the wrong message' to go about because they have an agende. they have their views, their politics, and their other junk like that. does that do me good? no. is that freedom of the press? no. i do think anyone who wants to know more about this should look into
Adbusters Magazine and the
Media Carta they also host.
freedom. equality. rights.
words thrown around but now, in our commercially unsound world, mean nothing. what is freedom? what is equality? what are rights? america may be better off than other spots, but what is anyone doing for those other spots? bah.
overall, we need change. we need control over what is being fed to people through ads and tv and all that. we need freedom of the press, for real this time.
---i must note, however, that by no means do i favor breaking laws, anarachy, useless violence, or anything else that would defame GOD or otherwise discredit JESUS CHRIST or who i am in HIM.---
