OMFG! I heard the song Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge on the radio. My first thought was, "Holy Shit! This would be perfect at a goth club!!" Now I'm listening to the rest of their album and yeah, it's GOTH! I don't care what they say at the radio station. This is what goth rock is all about. Real Rhapsody says their influences are Bauhaus and Joy Division. Umm... yeah! Very mellow. The songs flip-flop from swirly to pop goth (is that a genre?) and danceable. Their mellow stuff is the kind of music you want to wander around in a cemetary to. Their upbeat stuff is what should be playing on the second floor of Synthetic Culture. Yum!
All that being said, I high recommend the band She Wants Revenge. You can listen to them on Real Rhapsody and iTunes. The album will be available January 31st for purchase elsewhere. And they'll be at the Middle East Downstairs on V-Day. Who's with me?!?
