Demask Wins Copyright Judgment against Absolute Danny.
Demask wins a landmark Judgment today. The judgment handed down by Amsterdam's
Central Court found Absolute Danny guilty of reproducing Demask's designs. The ten sample items taken from Demask's famous Corset & Lingerie Collection that where put before the court where found to be exact copies of Demask products.
As from today, Absolute Danny is forbidden to either wholesale or retail these products. The judgment also stipulated that all of these items must be recalled from distributors/retailers
and they must be refunded. Furthermore Bailiffs have been instructed to destroyed all the recalled products and Absolute Danny's own in store stock.
Court Costs were awarded and she is instructed to open up her accounting to the court, so an assessment can be made for compensation purposes.
This judgment is the first wave in an attempt to stem the tide of illegal coping that is so prevalent these days in our industry. It is hoped that now, others will think twice before starting or continuing with this illicit practice.
