Prompt: She had a record
Three suitcases littered her floor, barely enough for the avalanches of clothing and notebooks falling out of her closet. The makeup was packed, the bed stripped of linen, and the pens and colored pencils were wrapped up and tucked into the corner of her purse. The posters she tore off the walls were thrown

When I came to America, my cousin introduced me to Michael Jackson so I had an MJ craze...then moved on to Santana and Third Eye Blind and some other alternative bands...by 7th grade, I was into Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Something Corporate, Godsmack.
9th grade was when my love for Tool began...I listened to anything and everything hard rock/metal, plus Pink Floyd and the like, plus some Japanese rock. It was only by 10th grade that I mellowed out and allowed alternative back into my music collection.
But I kind of liked having to discover good stuff on my own. Like when I first found the band Manowar, and threw myself completely into it, I was in 8th grade, and no one else listened to them, and I felt like I had my own little viking-war world for myself.
Still, I sometimes wish that I was raised on meaningful music, not the dreadful russian pop. It's really scary what is going on in the russian media these days. The old Superstars are of the old generation and since they are slowly fading out of mainstream, what they're doing is recruiting and molding new and upcoming stars to be like them...it's dreadful. It's like a hierarchy, really unfair. And the rock industry in russia is suffering, considering that all the good stuff was put out in the 1950-1980's and just went completely downhill from there. It's very rare to have a russian rock band be successful in russia.
Ah, you got a music rant from me. I can keep going but I'll spare you, it's just a personal pet peeve of mine - the way the music industry in russia is. And the russian version of MTV should just be renamed 'porn' for lack of a better term. They think they're all Madonna. >.> ok, I'll really stop now.
