U.K. Trip

Last month Adam and I voyaged with friends Kim and Jason to the United Kingdom for a whirlwind trip around the country. How whirlwind you ask? Well, we flew into Heathrow on the standard red-eye flight, got in about 8:00am, retrieved our rental car from a nice Hertz agent who happened to have lived for a spell in Iowa (small world, especially b/c we randomly got this same agent 5 days later at about 8pm and mind you the Hertz Heathrow is not a small office/rental car place!), and drove up to Edinburgh (Adam did the honors of driving most of the way, sleep deprivation and driving on the wrong side of the road in a foreign country with lots of roundabouts is always an interesting experience).

The rest of our itinerary looked like this:

Sunday - Edinburgh then drive to Inverness (unexpected flat tire outside of Edinburgh castle)
Monday - Inverness then drive to the Isle of Skye
Tuesday - Drive around the Isle of Skye back down through Scotland and onto the Lake District
Wednesday - Drive from the Lake District to Northern Wales, see some great castles, drive some more, and end up in Bath.
Thursday - Do the mystic tour of Southwest England (Avebury, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, etc) and drive to London.
Friday - Saturday - London.
Sunday - Homeward bound.

Absolutely nuts. Fun, but nuts. Lots of stories to hopefully tell later. But until then, Adam has posted some pics: http://www.adamwhitney.net/blog/
And Jason recently posted a video of him and Adam and Avebury searching for a magnetic field: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjpdUfEibbk&eurl=http://www.jasoncross.com/
