I miss it!
Lately, I have really been missing dancing. For some of my newer lj-friends, I danced for over 10 years. I did ballet (quit), jazz (quit), modern (hatedit), and then moved on to Irish step dancing. I miss it so much right now. Even though I'm taking art and expressing myself that way, it just doesn't compare to dance. Anywho, I think I may take classes again. My old dance school's hardshoe class looks like it's on Thursdays now, so that may work.
Yesterday was a really cool day. Mom, her friend, and I went to two arts and craft shows. The first was mainly people selling crafts and commercial stuff, which was neat. Mom got some Xmas decor and I bought the infamous COEXIST sticker and a vintage music note pin for $2. Then we headed to my town's annual arts show. They hold it in a park by the river, so it was a beautiful day. And while there, I met a super awesome photographer. His photography is of culture in places like India, China, and countries in South America. Well, while we were talking, he told me he loved my outfit and we talked about self-expression and art, yada yada. Then to my surprise, he had me pick out a 5X7 print and gave it to me! He said he gives something away at each show, and that I was the lucky person. OMG. He had a truly beautiful soul. I really hope I can be like him one day. Travel the world, experience cultures I've never seen before, and come home with a sense of comfort and live my life peacefully. It's people like him who make me strive to care about others and work towards a better world.
And today happened to go rather well, also. Got out of my photography class early and was able to go home and play with Rhia for a while. I then went and shot a few pictures in Ybor and went to the other campus and napped in my car until class. My photo class is going to kill me during the next few weeks. We moved back our final assignment's critique, but now it's due the week of Thanksgiving, and the darkroom is closed that thursday through sunday!!! DXXX. NOT GOOD. I have only a few weeks to do 15 new prints.. And I know not a lot of you have printed in the darkroom before, but OMG IT TAKES FOREVER. Luckily, I'm rather good at printing and move fast. It just SUCKS when you have the good eye in the class and everyone wants you to look and make sure their stuff is okay too! Gah. =( I think I will do some still life type pictures and I actually think I'm going to use my dollfies for it. They're so haunting, usually people are drawn in by them regardless of how good the picture is. =)
