Vega ran away

And she worked pretty damned hard to do it. She tore open a hole in the fence and got out. C got home and Vega was gone, he called me on my cell and told me Vega was missing but Pedo was here. I got all misty-eyed in Aldi's, and rushed through my grocery shopping to cruise the highways near the house in hopes that I wouldn't find her there. Thank god I didn't, but I was really getting worried. Where could she be? I drove by the houses of the dogs she always wants to play with on our walks, the local park, side streets, etc, and no sign of her. He called me as I pulled into the driveway to say there was a note. The note has boxes checked at the the following offenses: "Dog at large", "no Dog license" (where the hell did that go???) and "Your animal has been impounded", and states in hand written note - "Bring $25.00 to Police station to pay his bail and get him out." LOL! It turns out, a neighbor spied the little runaway and put her back only to have her come right back out. He then called Animal Control and Vega the vegabond was apprehended. Because we got home after they close (at 5PM), Vega's spending the night in Four Legged Lockdown. She somehow unhinged the fencing from the gate and mangled it to get out, but NOW there are bolted brackets holding it in place, AHAHAAHAHAH! Get out of that Vegini!

C's going to bail her out tomorrow. Hopefully this night in Pooch Prison will teach her that this is not the life she wants and she'll stop tearing up fencing.

Now, what's the appropriate thank-you to the neighbor?? I know some people would be mad about their animals being impounded, but I look at it like that call saved her life. Any suggestions?
