Just discovered that https://www.dna20.com/ will ship customized genes to shady warehouses and P.O. Boxes. Finally a company working with their customers. This makes me happy:
Each synthetic gene will be delivered to you cloned into a plasmid and double strand DNA sequence verified. Standard plasmid shipments contain 2-5 µg purified lyophilized plasmid DNA, but more DNA is available for an additional charge. The plasmid with your gene is delivered in a microcentrifuge tube, along with a transformed E. coli culture stab for domestic customers. International customers receive a filter paper with the plasmid in order to expedite shipping. A Quality Assurance Certificate is also enclosed. All bacterial growth is done in Soytone media (an animal-free LB equivalent).
For each gene, sequence chromatogram trace files covering both strands of the gene, a plasmid map and the full nucleotide sequence of the plasmid containing your gene insert are available in your online account in electronic format.
