Yes, my upcoming move to Australia is the main reason why I've quit my job, but there are a few other reasons, as well. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that working in an office isn't really my cup of tea. As great as my current company is (I really couldn't have asked for a much better one), it's obvious to both myself and my bosses that I'm not the greatest team worker in the world. I long to be my own boss again, to work at home and to have the freedom to do things when I want them done. I've also established that I prefer literary translation work to corporate/commercial translation work, so when I was offered a good literary assignment by one of my former employers, I decided accept it, which meant quitting my job a few months earlier than I was intending. I plan to be a literary translator in Australia, although I won't mind the odd commercial assignment.
I'd noticed you weren't around much these days. Flickr has a lot to answer for, I think! Stick around, eh? :-)
