Wow. Thank you for those words, Minnie. I think I might be blushing now. :-)

If you ever go back to Cologne, by all means visit the cemetery. It's a gorgeous place to walk around for a day, or even a day and a half, as I did. The best thing about it is that it's relatively quiet. From what I've heard, places like Highgate and Père Lachaise are fairly touristy, partly because so many celebrities have been buried there and people like to go and pay homage to them. By comparison, the Melatenfriedhof is a very peaceful and authentic place. It does attract tourists and photographers, but they're few and far between; I'm pretty certain I was the only one carrying a camera during the thirteen or so hours I spent there (except for my friend, perhaps). Most of the other people in the place seemed to be locals tending their loved ones' graves. So, yeah, it's authentic, atmospheric and tremendously photogenic -- a must-visit for any cemetery-loving photographer. :-)

I hope you had a lovely Diwali and that your health is finally improving. Any new developments on that score?
