To conclude the old shop series, here are a couple of photos of what was probably my favourite item in the whole place -- an old lampshade sans bottom piece, sitting on a pile of old encyclopaedias, smack in the middle of a doorway. I took about half a dozen pictures of it, from many different angles, but sadly, this is the only one which survives; I lost the others due to careless film-loading (ahem).
(See? There are reasons why I want to switch to digital. Eminently good reasons, too.)
So, on that note... The Lamp.
Funny detail: my parents have the same 20+-part set of encyclopaedias. It hasn't seen much use since the advent of the Internet, but I guess it's no use bringing it to a thrift shop any more; they're all chockfull of old encyclopaedias already.
