A few final cemetery photos before I temporarily move on to something else -- well, kind of, anyway. :-)

I took down many pics in pixelstains and will keep just 2 or 3 months worth at any one time. To be determined by laziness. One reason, out of a few, is to "remix" the photo. Process the ones that still feel right and see if from what I have learned since then, I can do something different, and the mood to affect it some more. I was to post one of those last night, but ended up working on a discarded one. Funny.

It is a starting poing and threshold. I need to cross the threshold to get started. I do not mean replicate, cuz that would be silly to me, but there is an intangible from the photograph that remains, and that is what I seek. I may take some photos to try out, but unlikely to be happy about it. I would not try to take a photo that replicates Closer as it has been done already... though there are times that I want my version of it :) This avoids the comparison. I help this by also ignoring famous photographers, though people have mentioned them in comments... and I just shrug my shoulders.

When I look through the view finder, I think of completely different things than the moment just before (besides the awareness that I am taking a picture and camera settings). As I scan, sometimes, I get an emotional impression -- this is a good sign. Although I never met him, the little that I know from others' stories connects with what I am looking at. The bridge in Luxembourg is a very good example... so when I take the picture, it is like my father is in them. It happens with other people or "influences". But, it remains an inside joke. In a way, the color bar under the pics that I have posted recently relate to that... something about the pic, or the mood, or the person. what_name gives me a hard time, but for Lj, it is my personal reminder (not sure that I would do it on a print). Usually, pics that I take of something repeatedly have this connection.
