new year's resolution time!
actually, i'm not making any specific "new year's resolutions". it's more a "new year, new me" kind of a thing, because resolutions never seem to last. i don't know why, but in my experience they tend to peter out... like when someone bought me a gym membership for christmas 2 years ago, and i watched people SURGE into the gym around jan/feb and by march, they were mostly gone.
but, i do have a general fitness goal- to lose about 1lb per week- half a pound is okay too, but i'd really love to lose at least 5 pounds a month. (i know there aren't 5 weeks in a month. i'm just hoping that i can lose MORE than a pound a week) i'm using SparkPeople, which is a pretty good website. i used it before, but i was aiming to lose 2 pounds a week and wasn't getting anywhere close to my goal, so i'm starting over. i think i just got discouraged because i set my goal a little too high and on top of that wasn't able to go to jazzercise.
so, the overall "new me" goal is to lose about 50 pounds by my birthday this year. i got a membership to the rec center which will probably be better than jazzercise because i have WAY more options on when to go. i may go back to jazzercise for the summer though, because it is really fun. i definetly miss it. i also may get myself a few jazzercise workout tapes. :)
i also have a general goal of going on actual dates this year. i'm terrified of going on blind(ish) dates, but i will swallow my terror and do it dammit! stephanie and i have decided we need to go on a double date at some point. i'd like to have a boyfriend sometime soon, but it's hard to find a boyfriend if you never go on dates! so, time to find and grab the ladyballs.
that's about it really. i'd like to figure out a new job for myself, but i'm not sure what exactly i want to do, so it's not really an immediate goal, i'm just kinda keeping my eyes open. but i think that losing (at least) 50 pounds and finding a good man are pretty darn good goals for 2011 and on.
