Mum's accident

Because 140 characters is a little limiting to explain this...

Mum's daily ritual is to start the car whilst she's outside the car, then pack the car with her stuff, then get in the car and drive to work.

This relies on the handbrake. Which, in the last few months, has been stuffed. Not too much of a hardship because, when we park, we put it into gear and the engine stops the car moving when it's off.

So this morning, mum puts the car out of neutral, then it starts rolling down the driveway. With the handbrake on. The car then stops because the drivers door hits our brick mailbox, pinning mum's leg to the decorative rocks next to the mailbox

All this happens before I'm woken by my sister in hysterics. We got her out by jacking up the car using the other cars jack

She's here at box hill hospital getting her leg checked. It looks like a lot of brusing, a few cuts but not much else, though we're waiting for the results of the xray. A few panels on the car are bent and scratched, and because of that the door won't close, but the car still drives.

Ironically, mum was leaving early so she could give the car to her mechanic... To get the handbrake fixed...
