I think I used this title once before in a post about snow. Seeing snow always makes it run through my head. It's from a little-known Agatha Christie - it's a recognition phrase. No idea why it has stuck in my head this long, although I do like that book.
Anyway, we've had snow. In November. Before Thanksgiving. I know you can't actually predict how bad the winter is going to be by when the first snowfall is, but this is really early for us. And it was a real snow, too - not just flurries. We had a good inch and a half, at least (I'm pretty bad at estimating these things). It completely covered the grass, anyway. The roads weren't too bad, though. Our road was super-slushy, and the next road out still had slush and slipperiness, but Pete said the main roads weren't bad.
They didn't close the schools, though, or even have a delay, which surprised me. Maybe they're thinking it'll be a bad winter, too, so everyone will have to get used to this. Anyway, that meant the senior center was open. Not many people were there, though, but enough so that I had five people in each of my two exercise classes (down from around 30 and 12, respectively). So we played with balls, which is always fun. And I got a lot of tidying up done before the classes - there are usually too many people needing to talk to me or whatever for me to keep things as tidy as I'd like.
And now I need to get to work on my classwork. Bleh.
