Review:
My friends, it has been said that I like breasts. No, friends. I LOVE breasts. I have brought you all back just as I promised I would. Back to our favorite battlefield, back to our beloved breasts! Attention all soldiers of the Millennium Battalion, this is a message from your commander: Friends, let us bring them breasts.

*cough*

So, being the breast-enthusiast that I am, I thought I'd like High School of the Dead. I'm also really into the whole zombie thing, so that was a plus. A series full of boobs and zombies? Sign me up!

And then, it sucked.

The pacing was terrible, the ecchi level stayed the same throughout, and the characters had absolutely no appeal. At least in Code Geass when the childhood friend girl got irritating, they off'd her (spoiler, haha) but in HSOTD? She keeps on going, keeps running her mouth, and nearly gets everyone killed just because her teacher gave her a bad grade once or something. Talk about leading up for nothing.

Here's my thought on ecchi horror anime (which there really ought to be more of, in my opinion): you gotta pace yourself. Start out with some really good adrenaline-pumping horror, give us just a flash of panties, maybe a small injury that requires us to see a little bit of skin. Then move forward and introduce us to the characters, get us to the point where we care if they live or die, then put them in danger, flash us a little bit more skin, lather-rinse-repeat.

By the end of it, we're going to be so eager to see whatever you're willing to show us that we'll be happy with a wet t-shirt contest combined with guns and zombies going splat. Everybody wins.

But if you start out with a full course meal, no one's going to want to snack throughout, you know?

And then there's the pacing. A zombie series really has no excuse to be boring. At all. But this one definitely was - boring straight through. Plus, it didn't have to be boring. We learn in episode 2 or 3 that the zombies die if you burn them (and stay dead). So, uh, get dear Kohta-chan out there with a fucking flame-thrower, then have him rewarded by Pinku afterwards with some nice sloppy oral sex or something.

I'M JUST SAYIN'.

This show sucked. I'mma go pout about it now. /teenage boy attitude
