Review:
I don't remember what we were watching, but I suspect it was that episode of Code Geass R2 where Lelouch uses his geass over and over in attempt to keep another character from dying (that's not a spoiler, right?). Anyway, I was pretty upset over whatever we'd watched, and Mr. Quickly said he could make it better with an episode of this new series Detroit Metal City. I informed him that he was dead wrong, that there was no way an anime about death metal and rape and murder could cheer me up. He said I should hush and give the series a try.
I am so, so glad I did.
This series is ridiculous, hilarious, completely offensive, and thoroughly awesome. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't like it - I mean, my god, the opening theme-song is titled "Murder" - but it's such a parody of the stereotypes held of both death metal and soft rock that I just can't bring myself to feel anything but absolute love for the series.
Would watch again and again without regret, definitely.
