Review:
An action series can have way too many characters and way too many storylines and way too much action and still be absolutely amazing *cough Baccano!cough*.
Bleach has all of these things ... and is not amazing. In the slightest.
If the author had stuck with one storyline and the wealth of characters created for it - take, for example, the Soul Society arc - and had worked with each character to develop a good story about individuals with whom we, the viewers, can relate, he'd've had a masterpiece. A high school kid tasked with protecting the living from the dead? Hell yes I'd watch that! Bleach? Um. I'll pass.
Pity. It had some very real potential. Now it feels like it's pumping out new characters and new levels as fast as it can just to sell more merchandise. That's sad. Could've been a helluva lot better.
