Personality: This personality section is from a previous application for another game. If this is an issue, please let me know and I will happily provide a new section. Thank you!

In relation to herself, Kasumi prescribes to traditional gender roles. Her mother was the perfect woman, and she believes she should be the same. She is soft-spoken, passive, and kind. Kasumi never raises her voice and remains calm no matter what the situation. Kasumi also defines herself by other people: her ‘father’s dutiful daughter’, her ‘mother’s little helper’, or ‘that nice young lady from that poor family who lost a mother at such a young age’. This is an attempt to please others as well as construct a set way of acting. No matter what happens, she knows what to do and what to expect. Thus, Kasumi has a high respect for authority figures. She is the “good girl” who obeys the rules and does what she is told. Seldom does she question what she is asked to do. She likes keeping busy and doing what needs to be done, whether she is told to or not. This young woman is not the type to sit idly by-dinner doesn’t cook itself, you know! Kasumi is passive by inclination, not nature; the women in her family are known for their strong opinions. It is simply that, when confronted with a stronger personality or half-reasonable argument, she will fold. She does not enjoy disagreement and gives in to keep the peace: her inner peace.

Kasumi keeps her steal spine carefully hidden. For example, if someone is misbehaving they will warrant a concerned conversation on what is appropriate and what is not. She is too polite to say anything out right, and so accomplishes this through kind words and small talk. Politeness is ingrained into her very pores (she sir and ma’ams no matter what!) Kasumi is also a practical person, and thinks in practical terms. She takes life as it comes. Planning ahead, beyond tomorrow’s dinner, is hard to do.

Kasumi has selective attention; that is, she sees what she wants to see. “Bad things” do not exist is her realm of thought, and because Kasumi only sees what she expects to she doesn’t do well with conflict. She copes through avoidance: physically, mentally, or emotionally. The thing that happened last week that upset her? Well, it didn’t really happen. If it is insisted that it did indeed take place, then of course it was perfectly all right. Really, it was nothing to get excited over. Denial runs through her head like water down a stream, flushing out the negative and keeping everything rosy in her world. For Kasumi, a person’s actions are never personal. If you ignore her, you’re having a bad day. Yell at her and you will invite her concern instead of drive her away. Selflessness comes easily; it is doing things simply for herself that Kasumi finds difficult.

Kasumi has a kind word for everyone, and is the first to offer help or advice if you are troubled. Talk to Kasumi about your problems, and you’ll end up with a thoughtful, if mundane, answer. If you’ve met her, you’re her friend. Kasumi likes everyone upon first impression and will think the best of strangers even if they’re trying to rob a store before her eyes. She is emotionally incapable of admitting dislike and forgives easily. Kasumi likes children to the point of enjoyment, and has a tendency to mother them unconditionally. This can be stifling for those of more independent mind, but it is hard to refuse her whole-hearted attention.

Kasumi works well with others; in fact, she prefers to do things as a team. Her situation, however, has kept her distant from her peers. During high school she belonged to the ‘Go Home Club’; she had things to do at home while others her age joined clubs and hung out. At heart, Kasumi is lonely even though she has her family. Feeling lonely is not something she wants to admit (see: denial) and has, as such, pushed an urge for company down.

Powers & Abilities: She can cook anything anywhere and it tastes good. Dinner? Just like mama (or papa or your very talented dog) used to make.

Third-Person Sample:
Few things happened that Kasumi could not put into appropriate terms. The groom-to-be in an arranged marriage between her family and her father’s friend arriving as a young woman was quite tragic, but also quite unavoidable. Really, arranged marriages in this day and age? Akane disliked men but Ranma was very much a boy and occasionally a young woman; the match was understandable. They got along so well, too. Ranma and his friends broke the furniture and the occasional wall or roof of the house during practice, but then, boys would be boys. What energy! Cleaning up debris wasn’t as hard with practice. Unusual, but not so out of the ordinary that it could not be understood. Waking sopping wet in a place that was certainly not her kitchen, however, gave cause for pause.

“Hello?” came out as a soft murmur, hesitant. Louder the second time, “Hello?”

Was that a giggle?

Kasumi struggled to her feet, fighting against her skirt, heavy and awkward from the water. “Is someone there?”

She saw no one. There were pillars, and a fountain, and a bag over there guarded by a small Dragon-san. Kasumi blinked twice in confusion, frowned, and stepped out of the pool and onto solid ground. The little Dragon-san turned towards her, and murmured something she couldn’t quite make out.

“… oh dear.” This was not Japan at all, was it.

Noises from behind her, a splash, and the puddle of water slowly dripping off her dress doubled as something else left the pool and stood behind her. It breathed down on her from overhead. Kasumi turned, looked up; ah, this was a much bigger Dragon-san. He was taller and had wings- bright, scaly, jagged wings. “Digon. Druuuud drudeeegon.”

Head tilt. “Yes? Is there something you needed?”

Dragon-san ruffled his wings and ducked his head, pointing past her with a clawed hand at the smaller Dragon-san. Smaller Dragon-san waved and smiled, wider than a person could smile. Oh, how cute!

“Is that your friend?”

Big Dragon-san nodded. “Deeegon.” He butted his head against her shoulder, insistent.

“Oh, did you want me to meet him?”

Big Dragon-san nodded again.

“Alright.” Well, she thought as she struggled again with her skirt to follow the patient Big Dragon-san, at the least she was not alone. When father came to get her, he would be reassured that she was all right with new friends such as these.

Fst fssst --hello? Oh, how does one, ah, there. Can you see me? I think it is working.

[Kasumi , your face is too close to the camera. You don’t want people seeing up your nose. Back off a little-that’s better. There’s a smile; hesitant. Still unsure?]

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you are doing well. The weather has been so nice, lately; Aoi-chan has been enjoying the sun. I beg your pardon; I’m not quite used to these, devices. We do not have them where I am from.

I attended my first competition this afternoon. Mr. Dragon tried his best, but I believe we need a bit more practice. [Places palm against cheek and tilts her head the slightest bit, fondly exasperated.] He’s so shy around crowds.

Oh, but that is enough from me. What has everyone been up to?

[Cheerful smile; ten seconds of fumbling; feed end.]

Anything else?

Long hair is long.
