Gah..well, this week has been semi-eventful, especially in light of last weekend which-to not go into explicit detail-wasn't the best weekend of my life. Don't worry about it now though, it's all in the past and things have improved considorably since.
I managed to get an extension for my essay which was great! It means I wasn't pulling my hair out on wednesday.
i shall be commencing hair-pulling on Sunday instead :)
I'm not sure how to present the recent news...erm...WELL...so shall resort to starry bullet-points:
*I joined the gym with laura! I've only gone twice since though (before you think too much of me) and when i do go, my knees hurt like they haven't in over ten years! I end up limping to Bulmershe, so i think i should have to take it easy.
*I got into the RUDS production of 'The Crucible' as one fo the girls! I was a bit bummed at first, but i realised how lucky i was to get in AT ALL and so am now really excited about the prospect of acting in a full-length play again! O how i missed it. And the people putting it one seem really nice and kinda crazy, which helps.
*TORCHWOOD STARTED AGAIN!!!! It's funny, there is was this recent article by an extreme, american Righty, about this game, Mass Effect. In said game, there is this one accessible scene, where your main character has sex with an alien love-interest (don't ask me too much about the game as it's on Xbox 360 and therefore outside my knowledge range). This scene really ruffled this guys feathers as he ranted on about how it was most explicit sex scene he had ever witnessed and how (despite it being rated M) this 'smut' was corrupting our children and how it must be banned from society before all our children become prostitutes or mass-murderers. He went on to (freguently) insult gamers everwhere, catagorising them all as sweaty, nerdy men/teens who live in their parents basement, spend 12 hours a day on a game just to reach a scene, because all gamers are perverts and sexually repressed. First of all: HELLO?! INTERNET?!?!? We have MUCH better access to (considorably MORE explicit) porn, just from typing 'porn' in your family-friendly Google. SECONDLY: The scene lasted 5 seconds, and contrary to the 'humping' he describes in the article, the view does not dip below collar-bone level and the worst that happens is that a random blue hand suddenly slams against the window in a 'Titanic'-esque way. I mention this (in a rambley fashion) because whilst this in-game scene is only reachable by those over the age of 18 (should parents actually do their job and not let minors buy/keep it) and after several hours of gameplay, TORCHWOOD offers sex (gay, straight and alien Mr Right-wing) in MORE detail and for LONGER and all the kid has to do is stay up past nine on wednesdays. I'm just saying. I dunno, maybe us Brits are filthier-minded than our american cousins. Imagine what us Brit-GAMERS are like. Sex on legs, thats what :P
*Aaaaaaanyway....A lot of time has been spent in this week. Which..i have no problem with. Me and Tom (in light of earlier events) have been spending more time in together, watching tv, playing games and just hanging out. Plus Tom seems to be trying a lot harder for us. Yesterday when we decided to get take-away, Tom asked if i wanted pizza. I said i would like Chinese but there wasn't a menu anywhere. Despite the fact i said i would be fine with pizza Tom went out and searched our street for a Chinese, found it and picked up some pepsi max and sushi on the way back without me asking. He even topped my phone up for me 'because he was there so he might as well' 0.0 and <3 <3 <3 :D
He really can be a sweetheart sometimes. The chinese he found was REALLY nice as well. I mean it, absolutely gorgous and it didn't make me feel ill-which is always a plus. He's also angling for us to visit the Chinese resturant down the road (which i have no problem with btw) which he found on his travels. He seems to really care about us, he's putting so much thought and commitment in and i love him for it.
*I have finally sorted out my clash. Before i had 2 seminars on 2 different cmapuses for the same time-which meant choosing one over the other :( Today i managed to change the Brit. Theatre seminar to 9-10, leaving Modernity at 10-11. I also have one at 12-1. Wednesday is goning to be the day of DEATH but at least i've sorted it out so everyone's happy.
And now i am off to the pub with Steve (who i haven't seen in ages ) and Tom, because although Tom did some tidying yesterday, the kitchen is a mess and i have no food now anyway. Oh yeah, our fridge broke and got replaced with a smaller one meaning a lot of food got chucked out cos it simply doesn't fit. Having discovered an Asda, i know have a new source of food and clothes which means lots of (interesting) cooking for Jenny!!! (yays). Oh, and nice affordable clothing. That's always good.
