Dreamfall!
So, I've been dog-sitting together with David while his mom is away on vacation... Sadly we've only had internet for one computer at a time seeing as the wireless router she's got doesn't quite work, it looses the connection every now and then which is rather frustrating.
Still, it's gone pretty well seeing as our sleeping schedule has been severely messed up anyway, so I've more or less only been sleeping in fits throughout the week and been really tired. Didn't help I ate some moldy bread (didn't notice it until the day after) on early monday morning which made me throw up the whole day... Talk about effin' annoying day at work after that, tired, feeling ill, hungry as I hadn't been able to keep anything I'd eaten... I couldn't afford staying at home tho *shrugs* What you don't do for money.
But tuesday afternoon was nice, I got my copy of Dreamfall (I didn't afford that truly after getting Guild Wars, but I just couldn't keep my hands off of it) and started playing. And man, goth damn, it's pretty, it's got good characters, the enviroments are very detailed, and... The story.... My, my, my.... It left me with the same feeling I had after Planescape: Torment, and seeing that's my favorite game ever thanks to the story that ain't saying just a little.
I sure as heck see why all the reviews I've read has given it top score or close. Sure, some game mechanics are a bit wonky (fighting system anyone?), but the environment, characters and story make up for that big time. If you like a good story in a game, you got to get this one. Just remember to play through The Longest Journey before you set your teeth in this one, it gives a lot of backstory that I think is necessery to fully appreciate the story in Dreamfall (and characters!).
I finished the game last night, but I still can't let go of it in my mind, I'm still twisting and turning the story in my head... I can't really say more without getting into spoilers but yeah, my mind can't leave it alone (good sign, really)...
Ok, I think I'm done gushing over Dreamfall now... XD
On another note I've poked my drawings a bit, did a bit of sketching on a drawing of Erin, see how that will pan out... Going to try out the watercolors in Painter a bit more and suches, and try to work from the background and forwards seeing as I don't have layers. In other words, try to do some "real", planned, painting job. And I've more or less finished that drawing for my friend... At least I think so, I can't think of any other things to add to it anyway...
And a closeup of the face, not quite original working size, I had to resize it a bit seeing as the face portion of the drawing is in itself some 1000*1000 pixels:
